Commuting to college?

commute 45mins (good day) 1hour15mins (bad day) downtown school. pick girlfriend on way (we split commuting costs). live @ home parents. girlfriend lives @ home parents well. i'm starting second year of college , seems i'm content living @ home during summer when school starts depressed because have go school 3 days week , work 3 days week. commuting consumes lot of time, worse energy. stuck in stop , go traffic whole way school. taking 17 semester hours(5 courses) , there anywhere 5-13 hours each day i'm @ school. work downtown well, in different part(probably 20-30mins school). takes me 40-50 minutes work home. problem have finding quiet place study. since bring girlfriend school, doesn't want stay longer have studying @ school. when i'm @ home, parents , sister running in , out , making lot of noise makes hard me focus. did mention hate sitting in traffic?

should spend excessive amount of money live downtown?
dorms start @ $2250/semester , go $4200/semester.

girlfriend understand (she's kind of crazy)?

have no debts , keep way, maybe should suck , take loan can live on campus?
