2000 Mazda 626 hesitating?

have 2000 mazda 626 126,000 miles on it. had rebuilt tranny put in (november) , haven't had problems since then. had new timing belt put in. in past 2 weeks, there have been 4 random times (not consecutively) when start excel after red light car hesitate bit , feel stall. check engine light flash on second , flash off. lasts 3 - 5 seconds , car run after that. planning take in week, since clueless cars wanted heads be.
