DSLR camers for nature/ wildlife photography?

right now, using sony h9 point , shoot nature , wildlife photography. ok part , 15x zoom great wildlife shots. since post photos outdoor blog ( http://www.afreshpath.com ) resolution , general quality ok.

though find dslr camera , lens take photos of high enough quality large prints , still keep weight factor minimum...lots of extreme hiking involved wildlife photography!

recommendations appreciated!
