Why the spark ignition system in aircraft is the most used?

piston engines in aircraft use spark plugs powered magnetos. there 2 magnetos..each 1 can spark cylinders if 1 fails. having 2 magnetos , 2 spark plugs aids in fuel burn in cylinder , safety/redundancy.

belive few aviation diesels dont need spark plugs.

turbine engines..turboprops , jets. use spark ignition start, restart, , atmopheric conditions , flight modes such takeoff , landing.
turbine engine needs ingition start since self igniting once started. if 1 fails (flameout) in flight igniters (on some) automatically come on attemp relight. turn on (continuous ignition) flying in iciing condtions , takeoff , landing. (procedure in beechjet 400)
