Where can i live on a boat in nyc?

fact is... people live on boats in nyc. 1 of best friends in fact lives on boat in 72nd st. marina. nice place (city marina - in fact) can legally , officially live aboard in nyc... 72nd street marina. there surfside 3 marina on 70st. , chelsea piers @ 20th street. , several private marinas along , inbetween 20th st , 79th st. @ 79th st. riverside park marina , boat basin.. there other places well... of other marinas don't allow "full-time" live aboards - though many (if not most, are)... 1 of cases of "i'm not living aboard i'm spending lots of time on boat"... kinda deals. of marinas not insured residential use , they're afraid of slipping off icy dock water , drowning in winter, (which, of course, has happened).

there liberty landing marina in jersey city. has own ferry drops off next wtc was, had boat there years... can see of lower manhattan cockpit , across manhattan in dinghy in 5 mins. it's nuts, crazy... agree... liveaboard year-round in nyc.

footnote... if getting boat contingent on living on - better secure boat slip first... there lot of people in fact this... have lot of options hudon river , across bay.
