Water pump prob on a 1999 pontiac sunfire 2.4 liter?

surprised no 1 else caught this. maybe did because have pontiac grand uses 2.4 liter. known quad 4 engine.

these engines unique in water pump timing chain driven. not timing belt or serpentine belt driven. these water pumps difficult change , known leak on time.

entirely possible water pump failed , in doing drive sprocket may have come off , allowed engine jump time.

can remove front cover easy enough inspect. recommend before assuming have had catastrophic engine failure

my coolant had leaked out of car , air cond quit blowing warm air right after. car quit running , wont start,can water pump cause car not start?
