Is the new Toyota FJ going to be available with a diesel engine, too?

fj screams 'diesel' considering modest 15mpg. guess, in toyota instead use new lexus hybrid drive-train.

strictly opinion, fj worst driver visibility car ever. rear, far right passenger side , straight ahead. true small drivers. (note, in neck of woods fj preference of kindergarten , soccer moms standing upright @ maybe "5ft plus" under limbo bar.)

@huba: if remember correctly, has not commissioned new diesel refinery since 1979, in fact has not built new refineries (diesel or otherwise) since 1979. result, there not enough diesel fuel capacity in us. must therefore imported europe. "explains" perhaps high price of diesel , reason behind legislative "efforts" (particle , sulphur emission) ban diesel powered passenger cars in us, , instead promote hybrid-drive trains.

note, if hybrids ever bigger batteries -- in gm's new generation of plug-in "hybrids"-- run of time burning coal. i.e. these cars run off electricity grid , not burn gasoline (a nightmare many exxon executives).

if detroit build in not distant future twice efficient gasoline cars (40mpg), oil industry have shut down gasoline refineries. this, since new cars consume half gasoline can produce today existing equipment.

exxon's perspective, "kyoto protocol" dreamer "thoughtlessly" require detroit invest massively in production facilities diesel passenger cars, , require oil industry modify or build new diesel refineries. @ time when european competition eager sell proven high performance diesel cars in us.

record, "best" car "diesel hybrid". vw has announced 4-door, full (european) sized diesel hybrid passenger car expected 79mpg.
