I'm going out of the country for the first time, What do I need to know about customs at the border?mainly tax

going normal vacation somewhere? unless planning on purchasing lot of stuff tons of cigarettes, alcohol, antiques, etc isn't issue average traveler picks $100-200 worth of souvenirs.

allowed or of amount of tax paid when purchased items refunded, if keep receipts , documents. show these documents customs officials upon leaving country claim refund. countries specify minimum amount must spend in particular shop claim refund. anywhere $25-300.

don't bother because not buying expensive souviners 1 shop.

*also... there departure taxes when leaving foreign countries want find out before going (probably in guide book/or online) know have amount of cash. $10-20 (best have reserved in dollars)
