Does anyone know the recipie to make the sugar for the sugar sculptures or know the recipie in making fondant?

ingredients:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
2 pounds confectioners' sugar

directions:
in large bowl, stir shortening , corn syrup. mix in salt , vanilla flavoring, gradually mix in confectioners' sugar until stiff dough. if using stand mixer, use dough hook attachment. otherwise, knead hand. if dough sticky, knead in more confectioners' sugar until smooth. store in airtight container @ room temperature or in refrigerator.
use, roll out on clean surface has been dusted confectioners' sugar until 1/8 inch thick or thinner if can. drape on frosted , chilled cakes , smooth sides down, or cut strips make bows , other decorations.
