What are the types of thrust reverser used in the aircraft engine?
there 3 major types jet engines. bucket, clamshell, , bypass types. common type bypass type. used on airliners today. airliner's turbofan engine jet engine driving large fan. of engine's thrust produced fan driving air past jet core. called bypass thrust. when using reverse thrust in these engines, bypass air directed forward through doors. other 2 types used turbojet engines. that's jet engine without fans thrust. engine type used fighters. clamshell type closes 2 doors block engine's thrust , direct forward through doors. "bucket" type similiar clamshell operation, uses two, three, or 4 plates pivoted meet behind engine, again blocking thrust , driving forward. here's link diagram illustrating these techniques:

in propeller driven aircraft, same effect produced reversing angle of propellers.
