Is Primerica a scam?? I was recruited (but not signed on YET).?

2 days ago, got call position financial company, primerica. @ time delighted heard such opportunity available. went primerica presentation today (2 days later), , great presentation, sold well. convinced, of course, hesistant due fact had absolutely no background in finance, have no idea referred me, , there alot of other random people in presentation room (a variety of students--in punkish clothing, , in conservative clothing, college , high school), there few business looking people (or looks it; guys in dress pants , shirts , ties), there women (in 20s) heals , evening party looking tropical dress, , few older guys.

during presentation showed rule of 72, , 2 successful "primericans." 1 age 29- $178,000 salary, , other vp, age 28 -- $273,000 salary. pitched company well.

training process/ class $100 government approved lisence sell life insurance, , other gov't lisence $25 per session (so that's $200 in total). mentioned if trying obtain these lisences in college take 2-2.5 yrs , alot more money (of course, 2 years $8000 ??). cram thoses classes 40hrs, examination afterwards.

anyhow, 'say' pass exam, working primerica make sound? mentioned along lines of "you can earn $1000 dollars in 5 hours of work" -- along lines of that.

well, skeptical it. have read on yahoo answer being scam, 2005. now??

ps-the office not professional looking. quite small "largest growing north american financial company."
-the recuiting alot of random people, there no requirements.
-they told me refer friend or family member.
-they asked reference know personality , how deal money. asked me provide 2 references, 1 current employer, other long time friend [she suggested this]. questioned interviwer on when mentioned friend. "is okay use friend??" "yep, that's fine." --i found odd , not professional.
-application , recruiting process fast.
-[i heard monday, interview wednesday (today), easy interview (did not realized actual , 1 interview-- no second interview required), , want talk me again on friday , sign me on program]
