Problems when shifting my 1990 mazda miata?

transmission in 1990 mazda miata shifting fine before went school. got out of class after 2 hours, got car, started it, , had hard time shifting reverse. when tried shift first, shift. tried other gears , had similar problem. turned off car, , didn't have problem going through gears. turned car on , able trough gears major struggle. able home, had struggle way home shifting. no weird sounds or else abnormal, hard shifting. wrong? how repair?
