Can anyone experienced in martial art before tell me the difference between wushu and tai chi chuan ?
"wushu" coined mainland china encompass martial arts , chinese wushu can divided 2 subsets. subset "chuantong wushu" or "traditional wushu" ideally refers classical martial arts styles haven't been tainted competition requirements taught effectiveness. "xiandai wushu" or "modern wushu" flashy performance , competition sets no applicability @ 1 extreme , kickboxing-like sanda in other extreme no moderation in between modern wushu practitioners train in either 1 or other not both. (the western world use "wushu" in references modern wushu performance routines, "sanda" mean modern wushu contact sports, , "kungfu/gungfu/gongfu" mean traditional wushu.)
taichi/taiji style of chinese martial arts practitioners in both modern , traditional wushu camps new-age-health-nuts. modern wushu taichi performance. recent competitions in modern taichi has people performing tornado kicks, butterfly kicks not unlike other modern wushu performance routines. traditional taichi tough training other traditional wushu styles. taichi health camp pretty people finding new ways work out , shouldn't considered martial artists.
request comparison between wushu , taichi isn't valid, because comparing general martial arts term/trend martial arts style. it's asking comparison between automobile , lincoln towncar.
