passenger of indian origin or passenger holding valid passport, issued under passport act, 1967, coming india after period of not less 6 months of stay abroad; , short visits, if any, made passenger during aforesaid period of 6 months shall ignored if total duration of stay on such visits not exceed thirty days.
other conditions
(i) duty shall paid in convertible foreign currency.
(ii) weight of gold (including ornaments) should not exceed 10 kgs. per passenger.
(iii) passenger should not have brought gold or other ornaments during of visits (short visits) in last 6 months i.e. has not availed of exemption under scheme, @ time of short visits.
(iv) ornaments studded stones , pearls not allowed imported.
(v) passenger can either bring gold himself @ time of arrival or import same within fifteen days of arrival in india unaccompanied baggage.
(vi) passenger can obtain permitted quantity of gold customs bonded warehouse of state bank of india , metals , minerals trading corporation subject conditions (i) , (ii)above. required file declaration in prescribed form before customs officer @ time of arrival in india stating intention obtain gold customs bonded warehouse , pay duty before clearance.

(a) can import gold baggage?
a) passenger of indian origin.
b) passenger holding valid passport issued under passport act, 1967.
(b) conditions
i) weight of gold (including ornaments) should not exceed 10 kgs. per passenger.
ii) such passenger coming india after period of not less 6 months of stay abroad. however, short visit during these 6 months shall ignored if duration on such short visits not exceed 30 days , passenger has not availed of exemption under scheme, @ time of such short visit.
iii) duty @ rate of rs.250/- per 10 gms. paid passenger in convertible foreign currency.
iv) ornaments studded stones , pearls not allowed imported under scheme mentioned above.
v) passenger can either bring gold himself @ time of arrival or import same within fifteen days of arrival in india.
vi) passenger can obtain permitted quantity of gold customs bonded warehouse of state bank of india , minerals , metals trading corporation ltd. subject conditions (i) , (iii). required file declaration on prescribed form before customs officer @ time of arrival in india stating intention obtain gold customs bonded warehouse , pay duty before clearance.
if travelling malaysia india total weight of gold can bring india without paying tax indian customs.
