Soldering forks into sculpture-can it be done?

answers! getting me started! have welded before (a girl paints murals,tiles,builds furniture , fries in pan!;p
looking weld utensils in "fish scale" type pattern make exterior or shape of sculpture-i'd hollow (at least in end) rain etc go right through it-is possible? in sense of strength? i'm thinking might need skelatol(?) form adhear/weld utensis actually....

can forks or other stainless steel soldered? or "welded" in way?
