Brown flaky patch of skin?

have brownish, flaky patch of skin on torso; skin whiteish , patch several shades darker, sort of tan. flakes more surrounding skin when scratch it. not hurt , don't have anywhere else. it's inch in diameter, beyond pretty disappears. i'm wondering if it's disease or allergic reaction something.
