I want to be a state corrections officer, but what about the commute?

sorry don't live in new york either. husband correctional officer. started year ago , commute lot. first 2 years in probation out stable spot. calls 4 hours before shift starts see placed, , either anywhere in institution or @ near or far hospital. must prepared ready 2 hours because of gear have put on. live 35-40 minutes away institution , has leave in hour in half in order there 30 minutes because institutions big, have walk spot. don't worry further walk more pay you, , earlier there more paid. pay everything, if bilingual $$$, if keep in shape $$$, if have degree $$$!! don't see why wouldn't out on housing, if you're single no family. although speaking cdcr government of california. find online sargeant, deputy, captain or co state of new york. wish luck!
