Pontiac Sunfire Major Malfunction !$%!#@!?

have serious problem 1996 pontiac sunfire. i'm not great vehicles i'm turning yahoo ^_^ ok, here go...my car makes clicking sound when brakes applied between speeds 15mph 40mph when abs dash light off. car not make fast repeted clicks above or below these speeds when abs dash light off. there problem these clicks, lights dim down. not headlights, dome light, dash lights, , have noticed heater/ac slows down when brakes applied , hear these clicks. here contrast, when abs dash light on car never makes clicking sound when brakes applied @ rate of speed , never have lights dim down. guy @ auto zone told me speed sensor, i've said i'm not guru @ cars. haven't forked out money yet change speed sensor yet either. ideas spectacular!!!!
