lack of art history in general curriculum. people seek whats accessible them, unless seek art. mom loves watercolors of flowers , fruit in kitchen, shes going go cross-eyed if start breaking down color theory , composition, analyzing artist based on strokes , subject matter. cool though, same when speaks medical jargon.
people relating art painting- mean relate painting? because disagree, public recognizes musicians , sculptures artists. perhaps more in conservative areas, in liberal, artsy areas, mastery of craft, , functional product, such carpentry, sewing/knitting or farming, considered art because of masterful execution. mean not painting art? depends on how strict of definition have of art. mere act of creating something, anything, can art. or having mastered medium, you've created art. or when piece, regardless of aesthetic or functional value, expresses you, you've created art.

why general public afraid / dismissive / derogatory contemporary art?
