Advice for commuting student?

car:
1998 chevy blazer 4wd automatic transmission, 15 gallon tank , 17mpg. drive 60-80 miles day m-f , 40 day sat-sun. i'm bit of bad driver in go 5 on w/out realizing , accelerate fast stop lights (not stop signs though) trying become more passive driver (i don't pass people unless i'm late , if pass i'm passing 1 car , won't pass speed limit when passing them). full time student , part time worker (work 20 hours week, , have 18 credits of classes) i'm having dip savings every other check gas. prices here $3.35 reg. e-f 40-50 depending on day , gas (i tend stick towards home since pricers .10 cheaper in country, price posted)
