Why are solar panels painted black?

yeah, telling black absorbs light, why solar panels black. no 1 far has stated black emits light. why radiators , heat sinks should black, because emit heat. reason, few people know this. is insulation house. if insulator, reflect heat coming in outside, keep heat escaping. shiny white surface insulator light. reflects heat being absorbed, keeps heat inside. black bad insulator, allows light energy in, on same token, allows energy leave. black light equivalent of open window.

if want heat object , there more energy outside hitting object creates itself, want paint black. if there more energy created inside object hits it, want paint white or silver.

on other hand, if want cool object , more energy hitting outside inside, want paint white or silver. if more energy created inside outside, (like radiator or computer heat sink) want paint black.

know lot of people 'but radiator isn't black' or 'i have aluminum colored heat sink'. turns out, light radiation not dominant cooling process heat sinks in air. convection through air better @ cooling radiator light radiation is. having silver radiator not make of difference in cooling efficiency. don't fooled, black radiator better. in consumer items, how 'cool' item looks , how costs produce more of driver color of heat sink how works. in space or vacuum, convection cooling doesn't work @ all, use black heat sinks because work better.
