Monitor wont detect Video Card. ?

have syncmaster 953bw monitor bought few weeks ago. dad set our old crt, attached bottom of p.c. in vga port connects nvidia geforce 7200. when plugged this, monitor display message in upper left corner flip between analog , digital before stopping , saying "no connection". forces me use integrated graphics card , lowers performance. works fine plugged graphics cards vga port may dead graphics card. if need post other info tell me , ill post. in advance whoever.
