HELP!!!! printer TROUBLE?

if have windows go control panel , add /remove.. find printer file , remove it. then... after removed unplug printer.. reboot computer before install printer cd rom again.. follow instructions on rom. , keep in mind hardware needs unplugged when attempt reinstall it..
dont plug printer in until after installation , reboot.

what happens if connect printer before installing software? how can fix problem (if so)?
