FAFSA what do colleges do with it?
efc of 21700 means family expected pay $21,700 toward college expenses. means not receive need-based scholarships federal government, state government, or colleges.
however, still eligible receive merit-based scholarships schools. if grades outstanding, sat/act scores good, , have years of community service , extracurricular activities, can receive tens of thousands of dollars in merit-based scholarships colleges , universities. private colleges , universities give lot of merit-based scholarships; public state colleges give little in merit-based scholarships.
make sure have completed required applications merit-based scholarships calling financial aid office @ each of colleges applied to.
also, should offered government loans (stafford loans) interest rates , 10-year payback period (or longer).
both merit-based scholarships , loans offered listed on financial aid award letter receive in march-april 2008 each college have been accepted to. luck!
