We went to a Ford Mercury dealer today who said Mazda was made by Ford. Is that true?

while mazda owned ford, not make mazda. technically 2 separate companies work make vehicles. ranger , b-series same truck difference being way front fascia looks. ford engine mazda transmission.
ford owns: lincoln, mercury, volvo, mazda, jaguar, , land rover. (they sold aston-martin)
jaguar s-type, lincoln ls, , ford thunderbird technically same car, different bodies put on same chassis.
