actors have second jobs live on. if you're muscial performer, there's no guarentee of long term positions. equity introduced registered members base wage work. equity lowest around £350 p/w mark, not bad wage. able run home on kind of money myself, , living partner student @ time.

unlike minimum wage, equity isn't excuse theatre companies underpay staff work deserves better pay, happens lot of jobs now.
